KITCHEN

LA’s Award-Winning
KITCHEN Contractor

We understand that the Kitchen is the center of your home, serving many purposes and needs an update from time to time. The Kitchen is for a good reason called “The Heart and Soul of the Home,” and it is no surprise that the Kitchen is the most important remodeled room of the house.

There are numerous reasons why people choose to remodel their Kitchens, and that only makes sense since there are so many benefits to making a Kitchen upgrade. Regardless of your reasons for renovating your Kitchen, and whether you are expanding it, remodeling it, or repairing it (or some combination of these), we at RJ Kitchen Remodeling can handle any projects from beginning to the end.

Benefits of Kitchen Remodeling

Common benefits and reasons for a Kitchen renovation job include:

  • To boost the resale value of your house. Few areas of remodeling give you as good a return on investment as can a Kitchen renovation. A high-quality and well-designed Kitchen remodel adds as much as up to 10% to the value of your home, providing homeowners a great return on investment.
  • Custom Cabinet design.  We will work with you to find the right design and layout that suits you and your family’s needs.
  • To match or set the tone of your home’s ambiance. As the room of the home where people spend the most time, you can’t afford for your Kitchen to be “out of step” with the rest of your home’s decor. And if you are moving to a new look, but just one room at a time, the Kitchen is an excellent place to start.
  • To simply enjoy the improvements. You want to improve your Kitchen so you and your family can enjoy it while living there. New Kitchen appliances, more attractive cabinetry, a modern-style brushed brass faucet, a stainless-steel sink, new wood, tile, or vinyl plank flooring, better-placed light fixtures, and other upgrades will make your Kitchen far more functional and far more pleasant to cook in, eat-in, and live in.
  • A simple update to your home such as new cabinets can increase storage space and create more efficient use of any room in your home
  • Save cost and time. With years of experience in Kitchen remodeling, we will be able to estimate the cost of materials, plan for any problems that may occur, and ultimately save you money and time.

Question

  • How long a Kitchen remodel takes? It takes between 6 to 8 weeks* after signing the contract and depending on how extensive the work is. Half of this time is hours spent off-site cutting measurements for counter materials and fabricating cabinets etc. A Kitchen remodel will consist of two phases.
    • The planning phase is where we choose layout design and materials such as cabinets and countertops. Once all decisions have been finalized and the material is ready to install, then we begin phase two.

  • Phase two Demolition and Installation of the new Cabinets.

Kitchen Cabinet Styles

Find your cabinet style. Cabinetry is more than storage. It creates an ambiance, and is an expression of yourself.

Some of the Kitchen styles include;

Custom Cabinet Style. Custom cabinets are also a great choice if you are in a unique space, or if you need specialized storage in a small Kitchen. If you have a smaller space or unique floor plan, for example, every inch count. Custom cabinets can maximize your storage while making the Kitchen feel more spacious.

Semi-Custom Style. Semi-custom cabinets are manufactured with standard sizes, styles, and finishes. They are similar to customs, but have more options for customization and added detail. For example, you may have the ability to alter dimensions such as cabinet depth.

Modern Cabinet Style. Modern Kitchen cabinets feature flat slab doors that avoid excessive details. No crown molding, raised panels or decorative carvings are seen, emphasizing flat, sleek surfaces instead. The simplicity of a modern Kitchen design allows for a more spacious and airier feel in your Kitchen.

Traditional Cabinet Style. Elegant, inviting, and reminiscent of a not-so-distant past, traditional cabinet design is best summed up as ornate, rich, and decorative. Usually embodying the golden age of Europe, traditional design styles use a variety of colors, elaborate motifs, and a blend of materials to breathe new life into century-old styling.

Cabinet Door Types

There are three main cabinet door types which are;

Raised Panel. A raised panel door consists of a frame that surrounds a panel. The frame consists of rails and stiles. Each door has two rails and two stiles that form the frame around the panel. Door stiles are typically the vertical parts of the door frame.

Recessed (Flat) Panel. A recessed panel door is a cabinet door with a center panel that is slightly depressed. Recessed panel doors often include thinner wood than other types of cabinet doors. A recess panel door has a center panel that is slightly lower than the surrounding door frame.

Slab Panel. Slab cabinet doors are flat-panel doors that don’t use any contours to make the cabinet door look raised or recessed. They are, quite literally, a flat slab that can instantly transform your kitchen cabinets to a more modern or European look. These slab doors have hit interior design trends pretty hard.
